I believe that the starting point of counselling is to build a good therapeutic relationship which I consider to be essential as it may be the first time you have had an opportunity to share intimate thoughts, beliefs, and emotions regarding any issues or difficulties you may have experienced. I will work in collaboration with you and offer a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and difficulties. I will support you to get to know yourself as you really are, so you can show up fully and live your life authentically. You will be supported to find your own answers and make any changes you feel necessary to your inner and outer world.

My Experience: • I worked for over 10 years at a rape crisis centre with survivors who had experienced sexual trauma and exploitation at some point in their life • I have been working in various further education and higher education Universities and Colleges counselling students for over 5 years. • In addition, I have been running my private practice for counselling for over 7 years My Interests: I am most passionate about working with clients holistically and empowering clients to be the best version of themselves. I am very interested in behavioural science, and neuroscience: In particular I am fascinated with the mind and body connection, especially how we can re-train our brain to think differently, and how through mastering the breath we can obtain optimum physical, emotional and psychological health and well-being. Some of the topics I work with are anxiety and depressions, complex trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, relational attachment, anger management, LGBTQ, sexual and gender identity, self-harm and suicidal ideation. I work within the BACP ‘Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions’, and the BACP Guidelines for ‘Online Counselling and Psychotherapy’. Information relating to both documents can be found at: www.bacp.co.uk. Each client will be assessed when they make contact so I can best meet your needs. A counselling assessment is a series of questions about how you view your general health and well-being. I aim to provide a safe, supportive, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard, and have the space to identify your needs and goals for moving forward with your life. I can offer you online counselling either by telephone, email, or video call. I can work creatively as not everyone feels as if they want to communicate verbally. It may be, you prefer to express yourself through various other modes of creative expressions.

I trained as a pluralistic counsellor which means I work with a flexible integrative approach, which is rooted in humanistic and person-centred values. Primarily pluralism is a philosophy, it is based on the premise that every client is unique, as is their, needs, goals, life experiences and personal circumstances therefore there is no one way of working with someone. Pluralism embraces and celebrates diversity, equality, and cultural differences. I work holistically in that I consider the whole of each person. I will support and empower you to be able to create and maintain healthy psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. We will work in collaboration and together we will identify and tailor a therapeutic approach that will resonate with you.

Online Supervisor Profile

I am a pluralistic integrative therapist and qualified supervisor, with a holistic approach. I have experience working in both public, university/college, and third-sector charity settings, I also have a private practice. I have over 10 years of experience working with Complex Trauma and PTSD. As a pluralistic clinical supervisor, I work with flexibility, creativity, and engagement with my supervisees. I consider that having a collaborative and dialogic approach helps to draw from the skills, knowledge, and understanding of both my supervisee and me.

I consider that having a collaborative and dialogic approach helps to draw from the skills, knowledge, and understanding of both my supervisee and me.
My style is open, flexible, and respectful, and I offer a space for my supervisees to safely reflect on and explore their practice, get practical advice, and recharge. As a strong believer in race, culture, gender, sexuality relationship diversity, and equality, I welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences.
I offer a safe and supportive space in which to explore and develop therapeutic work, professional development, and learning and creative approaches. I am passionate about the supervisory relationship which I view as a two-way process during which we explore professional and personal development whilst adhering to the relevant professional bodies' codes of ethics. Within a respectful and relaxed atmosphere, we reflect on the work, therapeutic process, and relational dynamics.
I work with supervisees at all stages of their counselling career, from students to long-established practitioners, from all different organisations and private practices. An important aspect of supervision is helping supervisees to consider the impact of the work on the self. As a trained bodyworker and breathwork practitioner, when appropriate I bring mindfulness and therapeutic approaches into my practice to support overall wellbeing, resilience, and self-care.
Pluralistic supervision is distinctive in two main ways: supervision sessions are structured and facilitated in accordance with pluralistic principles, and the supervisee is encouraged to focus on aspects such as (e.g. goals clarification, collaboration, use of feedback) that might be most relevant to their work with a specific client. I work in collaboration with you so you feel safe to explore all areas of your professional practice and personal development.

Interpersonal Relationships

Pluralistic and integrative approach. At the start of our supervision relationship, as a pluralistic supervisor, I seek to build an understanding of the bigger picture of the supervisee's therapeutic stance by collecting information about their learning style, supervision preference, theories, and methods that they draw on in their work, and current personal and professional development agenda. Pluralistic supervision is similar to any other type of clinical supervision, in seeking to fulfil many functions with supporting good professional ethical practice, and personal development.
