Hello, my name is Sharon and I am a BACP Registered and Accredited Counsellor.
I am passionate about my therapeutic work and I am especially passionate about increasing self-awareness around our needs.
We can often feel an inner-conflict around giving ourselves permission to attend to our own needs and the many blocks to this can be complex.
Professionally trained in London and the South West of England, I have over 15 years experience as a qualified counsellor and clinical supervisor.
I am usually contacted when someone is feeling either overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, lost, disconnected or stuck.

Over the course of my counselling career, I have supported clients in a variety of therapeutic settings, including; Bereavement, Women's Refuge, Workplace Counselling, Higher and Further Education. I worked for 10 years as a High Intensity Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor with the NHS. My extensive additional training allows me to draw on aspects of different models of therapy to work in the most effective way with you.

My approach is experiential, helping you to explore difficult situations, discover what these mean to you, process emotions, and find new perspectives and meanings. A 'one size fits all' approach is not what you will experience with me.
The Person-Centred approach underpins all of my work and I regularly draw upon aspects of Compassion Focused Therapy.
I work with the inner critic and I believe in fostering self-compassion as a powerful resource. If we have not been taught how, we will naturally struggle with this...this is not our fault.
I believe that our experiences can change us, but they do not define who we are.
Being able to be truly heard can be an empowering and transformative process.
These values strongly inform my professional practice and consequently what I am able to share with you through my therapeutic work.

I work on a 1:1 basis with adults - 18 yrs or over
