I am a registered member of BACP (Accred) being qualified and experienced as an integrative counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical therapeutic supervisor with a broad range of counselling experience over 17 years, working with individual adults and couples providing both short-term and long-term face to face counselling.

I have 17 years' experience in the field, having been trained in integrative counselling and psychotherapy. I am experienced in working with a wide range of clients, both individuals and couples, dealing with short-term challenges through to deep-rooted historical issues requiring longer term therapy. I have also long-term experience working with dissociation of both male and female survivors of rape and childhood sexual abuse, along with using my long RAF career, experience and understanding of the military to work with serving and veterans who have mental health issues.

I offer an integrated, developmental-relational therapeutic approach providing individuals and couples with a warm, accepting and genuine environment in which they can explore issues, clarify choices and make decisions.

My aim is that through therapy you will achieve greater decision making in your life. In gaining some understanding of your inner world, I can help facilitate a period of acceptance and change by enabling you to talk about emotional difficulties and periods of crisis.

Online Supervisor Profile

I am a qualified CPCAB L6 trained therapeutic supervisor and work with clinical therapists, along with other NHS helping professionals from a variety of agencies and theoretical orientations including person-centred, psychodynamic, integrative, gestalt, CBT and drama therapists. I offer both individual and group supervision to therapists, both those in training and those who are qualified. I am an accredited BACP member and supervise in accordance with the BACP's Ethical Framework. I am a qualified Senior Professional Member and Online Supervisor with ACTO (Level 3) using the learning outcomes that are mapped to the BACP competences for telephone and e-counselling.

As a qualified CPCAB L6 therapeutic supervisor, my model is based on Hawkins and Shohet’s "7 eyed model" working with, holding and considering the 7 focus/aspects of therapeutic work of: the client; the interventions; the client and therapist relationship; the therapist’s process; the therapist-supervisor relationship; the supervisor’s process; the wider context (both organisational and societal) within which the counselling is taking place.

Additionally, I also use aspects of Page and Wosket’s, 1994 "Cyclical model" which incorporates:

1. Contract – between stakeholders, for the supervision.
2. Focus – for the work and the session.
3. Space – for reflection, exploration, emergence.
4. Bridge – from supervision back to coaching.
5. Review – of the supervision session, relationship, contract, etc.

I have been a qualified psychotherapist for many years and have been in professional practice in the UK working within the IAPT, EAP and private domain since qualification. My approach has developed from the basis of a pure Person-Centred Approach (PCA) into a more wider humanistic/integrated way. The foundation of PCA is used throughout, with additional skills from other theories TA, behaviour theories, script and mindfulness; integrating CBT and third wave therapies - DBT, CFT, ACT.
