I am an experienced and qualified Therapist and Supervisor, Accredited with the NCPS. I have been working in the therapeutic world for over 20 years and now run a purely online private practice. I have a particular interest in working with adults, young people, Men in therapy and LGBTQ+ clients
I am only too aware how challenging it can be to start the therapy journey, not knowing quite what to expect or how it will look at the end. From my own experience I have learnt how beneficial therapy can be and how much of a difference it can make in moving forward. My aim is to always create a safe and secure space in which you can explore the things that you maybe struggling with and for us to work together in bringing about change.
My interest lies very much in Online Therapy, as I can see how well this works and which offers a greater opportunity to work in different mediums, such as email, live chat or video. My practice is now based purely online, although I do have experience of face to face work which has very much complemented my online presence.
My particular interests are young people and I have worked extensively with this age group during my working career. However, I am also very focused on working with MEN in therapy as I recognise how challenging it can be for men to seek this and to explore patterns of behaviours that are unhelpful, whilst also trying to manage the difficulties of feelings and emotions, whilst manage the expectations that they often have to negotiate.
I have worked with Adults and Young People throughout my career and now Supervise how therapists in their work.
My primary focus in the work is to establish a strong working relationship with ‘you’ my client. This is not about my agenda or giving you advice but supporting you in your journey of change and self-discovery. We will be working together to look at the things that impact you, that are perhaps getting in the way of growth and holding you back, with the aim of making changes to help move forward.
As a Psychodynamically trained Therapist I work very relationally and our work may involve looking at the past to see how it may still be impacting on you in the present with unhelpful coping strategies or unwelcome behaviours. Once these are identified it can free up space for change and that is always the focus of our work.
I appreciate that change can take time, especially if connecting to painful and challenging parts of yourself. I therefore do not put a fixed time on our work together and that you know you have the space to explore whatever is coming up for you in a safe and trusting space. I will always continue to look at where we are in the work so that you still have a sense of control and choice.
If you do make contact with me about counselling then I will always arrange an initial assessment appointment so that we can get a sense of one another and for me to ensure I am the right person for you. I appreciate how hard it can be to find the right person to work with so this beginning is a way for me to understand what you maybe struggling with, to ensure that I am the right choice for you and that you feel comfortable in working with me. This is your Therapy and you need to feel OK.

I am a fully qualified Face to Face and Online Supervisor/Therapist and Accredited with the NCPS. I have many years experience and work now purely as an online practitioner in private practice, offering both individual and group supervision. As a fully qualified Online Therapist and Supervisor I have an appreciation of the differences between working online and in person
As a Psychodynamic trained therapist my Supervision learning has come from the 7 Eyed Model of Supervision by Hawkins & Shohet.
However, my approach is an inclusive one in which I try to think about all the relationships that are happening within Supervision so that we can get a greater understanding of what is occurring and how this can be used in the benefit of the work.
As a Supervisor I offer both individual and group supervision. I work with counsellors from differing modalities. This is perhaps best reflected in my current work as a Group Supervisor for a Young Peoples Counselling Agency. My experience comes from many years as a therapist and my roles both voluntary and managerial in differing therapeutic settings.
My aim for Supervision is to ensure that it is an enriching experience and a positive learning environment.
During my time as a therapist and supervisor I have worked with many issues and have a particular interest in working with CYP (11-25) which I have many years training and experience in. My experience ranges from working with CYP clients in a counselling capacity face to face and also Online through message and instant chat therapy. In addition to this I work closely with LGBTQIA+ clients, working previously with HIV + clients through a National Sexual Health Charity.
I also have an interest in working with MEN in therapy, recognising how challenging it can be for men to access therapy and to explore behaviours, emotions and feelings.
As a Psychodynamically trained therapist I use this to underpin my work in a Supervisor capacity, using the Hawkins and Shohet 7 Eyed Model of Supervision. I look to work at a relational level and I feel this is the key element to establish a strong therapeutic connection with both clients and supervisees.
I consider Supervision to be a fundamental part of the learning journey and I like to create a space that enables this to happen, not only working with the client material but also the Supervisee and what they are experiencing in the work. When I trained as a Supervisor I was encouraged that it should also be 'fun' so I try to add this element to the work, a space in which laughter can occur whilst also learning, developing and information sharing.
As a Supervisor I continue to train so that I can provide the best possible support and information that a Supervisee may need. It is always my aim to provide a safe and reflective space so that we can work together in the best interests of all.
My Supervision Fees are :
30 mins £40
1 hour £70
