I value freedom of thinking and flexibility, each person develops their own way and my Counselling needs to work with that, acknowledging and valuing it.
I am an experienced Counsellor and as well as working privately with couples and individuals, have been a Voluntary Counsellor for a drug and alcohol support service and now counsel voluntarily for an agency supporting survivors of sexual abuse.
My clients include adults of all ages and people on the autistic spectrum where affirmation and nurturing self-acceptance is especially important. I have respect and care for people, which I hope comes across in my Counselling.
I am passionate and committed to what I do and respect for people is at the core of it. Continued professional development is an integral part of my life and it needs to be useful for my clients. Recently I have completed training in managing relationships, death and dying and working with anxiety. I am about to start an MSc in Psychology which has practical applications that will further support what I offer clients.
Life is so varied, there are many ways of living it and my counselling focuses on how you see your life and what fits best for you.
Counselling needs to offer you a calm place to talk and be heard and understood, without criticism or judgement. During the sessions, the aim is to increase awareness of what is happening and to consider whether there may be other options which could work better for you.
Counselling can help you see your life in a different way and gives you the opportunity to do things differently if you choose.
I work with adults of all ages including individuals and couples. Whilst I know weekly sessions work well for many clients, I see others who do not want or are not able to make that regular commitment. You are not required to sign up for a set number of appointments, we work flexibly session to session. However, if you are thinking of having just one or two sessions, I suggest you start with a longer one of 90 minutes.
People finding out what matters most to them and trying to make sense of their lives.
In therapy I see clients from many backgrounds and have worked with relationship issues, depression, loss, anger, anxiety, people suffering abuse or with self-esteem, and addiction problems.
As a couple’s therapist, I welcome clients with many kinds of relationships, including same sex partners.
For individuals:
My fees are £50 for a 55 minute to 1 hour session.
For couples:
My fees are £65 for a 55 minute to 1 hour session.
