Hello - My name is Jan.
I work in an integrative way, gauging the way that I work to suit your individual needs. I work with a trauma informed, somatic approach. Most importantly, my aim is to ensure you do not feel judged helping us to form a trusting, safe relationship for successful progression in our work together. https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/
I have counselled young people and children online through COAP (Children of addicted parents and people) and through the charity Swings & Smiles
http://www.swingsandsmiles.co.uk/sibling-support/welcome/ (face to face and online) and provided extensive supervision for online therapists supporting children and young people, as well as adults online in private practice and within organisations.
I understand the feelings of loneliness, despair and fear that both young people and adults can often find themselves struggling with. I am led by your individual needs, sensitive to the fact that, as an individual, you are the expert in understanding yourself with the ability to make transformational changes alongside emotional support and understanding provided through a trusting relationship with me, as your counsellor.
In all of our work together I will help you to recognise the relationship between your mind and your body: how both relate to each other and how this informs personal understanding, growth and positive changes.

Hello. My name is Jan - I work with supervisees in a relational way acknowledging the significance of a trusting relationship between myself and the supervisee as key to successful supervision. I bring a particular interest and experience in family and childhood bereavement and living with a family member with a life-threatening illness/disability.
I bring experience of supervising counsellors online who counsel children and young people within organisations as well as private practice as well as non clinical professionals. As a former director at ACTO and now as an active member, I have been involved in begining and formatting the Online Competences for online supervision and the Online Competences for working with Children and Young People online.
I acknowledge and promote the significance of the restorative aspect of supervision and significance of appropriate self-care in maintaining a therapist’s growth and mental wellbeing, preventing potential therapist burnout.
I offer an initial, free, online meeting to discuss whether or not we both feel I can offer you what you need through supervision. I am also flexible with times I can offer – Early evenings are possible.
