I offer Couples Therapy in a non-judgemental, confidential and compassionate way. With my sensitive, empathic listening, balanced awareness and professional experience, I help you both to find your way through challenges. The range of methods used are finely tuned to suit your particular needs and together with your willingness to engage with this work, openings can emerge for more harmonious, satisfying and loving relating.
I also offer Music Psychotherapy for individuals.
I have a lot of experience with online couples therapy. Many couples are now preferring online sessions for the freedom in not having to travel and for other benefits such sessions enable, such as being in different locations if needed.
I offer Couples Counselling too which tends to be shorter term than couples therapy. It focuses more on the present and immediate issues you are facing and how to improve these. The past can be drawn on to illuminate the present, but the focus is on the present, e.g. looking at communication issues around day to day concerns and using specific techniques to help. Couples therapy is usually longer term. The focus is more on looking at the root cause of particular issues and understanding patterns of behaviour.
I can support you with a whole range of issues that can arise in intimate relationship, such as:
• Difficult communication
• Infidelity
• Sexual dissatisfaction
• Problems around different values
• Conflict about money
• Challenges with family and children
As well as being a qualified and experienced Couples Therapist and Couples Counsellor, I have over twenty years’ experience in working with adults using Music Psychotherapy. My experience includes working with a diverse range of people of different ages, sexual orientations, ethnic backgrounds, religious and spiritual beliefs and with a range of disabilities. I have also worked in a variety of settings, including working abroad within different cultures. This wealth of experience I bring to my work.
I was the Lead Arts Psychotherapist for Specialist Services with a Mental Health NHS Trust for seven years and I have fifteen years’ experience working in the NHS as a Music Therapist working in adult mental health.
I have worked in private practice for eleven years and have over five years’ experience as a Couples Therapist.

What I can help you with
I am trained and experienced in both couples counselling and couples therapy. My approach from my training is relational and so the focus is very much on what you are co-creating in your relationship; the dynamic between you. Depending on what you are wanting support with, I adapt my method to suit your particular needs. When you are needing to focus more on the present situation, then I will offer a couples counselling approach. When there is a need and a willingness to look more in depth to find the root of an underlying issue, I can support you with this using a couples therapy approach. Where there are unmet needs in childhood in certain areas, these can carry over into intimate relationship. Conscious understanding of your own and your partner’s issues helps transform deep seated relationship problems.
I can support you with a whole range of issues that can arise in intimate relationship, such as:
• Difficult communication
• Infidelity
• Sexual dissatisfaction
• Problems around different values
• Conflict about money
• Challenges with family and children
• Rekindling that loving spark
• Enhancing intimacy, both emotional and physical.
I help you explore issues in a way that feels safe and supportive.
Is it for us?
I have experience of working with couples from a range of sexual orientations, ages,
ethnic backgrounds, spiritual and religious beliefs and with disability. I welcome working with all couples who are interested in working with me and together we see from an initial consultation, whether I am the right couples therapist for you.
I also offer Music Imagery Therapy for individuals. This is a depth-oriented Music Psychotherapy method using specially designed music programmes mostly with classical music.
The powerful, yet gentle approach, involving listening to pre-recorded music in a deeply relaxed state evokes sensory images, emotions, insights and brings new awareness
I guide you in a relaxation process, which allows you to journey with the music in a deep and safe way. I support you in this relaxed state to access more of your inner self, so that deeper feelings, experiences and intuitive knowledge can come into your full awareness and help you in your life.
If you are looking for a more creative, spiritual approach to your personal development, Music Imagery Therapy will be of interest to you.
You do not need to consider yourself musical to benefit, as we are all musical in that music affects everyone.
