My name is Gill Read. I am an accredited member of The National Counselling Society.
Based in Worcestershire, I am trained as an integrative counsellor but my approach is primarily person-centred. This means that I listen to you and hear what you are saying so that we can work together on the issues you would like to look at.
I also run a service for people living with dementia. My background is in supporting people with dementia and their caregivers.
I am extremely interested in offering a counselling service to people in a caregiving role. I have particular expertise in this area and understand the issues associated with caregiving.
I also understand the issues associated with receiving a diagnosis of dementia and welcome anyone in this position.

I am trained as an integrative counsellor but my approach is primarily person-centred. This means that I listen to you and hear what you are saying, so that we can work together on the issues you would like to look at.

I have experience of counselling people who are bereaved and finding their grief difficult to cope with. I have experience of counselling people living with anxiety who are finding life tough.

In terms of supporting caregivers and people affected by a dementia diagnosis, I offer a safe space for you to voice the range of emotions you may be feeling on a daily basis. We will then look at how you can move forward, knowing support is there.

This may involve identifying strategies and ways of coping, in what can often be a very difficult situation to be in.

I draw upon my own experiences both personally and professionally, having a breath of understanding which others may not have. I have been a caregiver myself, as well as working with caregivers for many years. My expertise lies in supporting people living with dementia and their caregivers.

I feel I am particularly well equipped to offer a counselling service to those affected by dementia and am confident that my background means I understand what you are facing.

My approach to counselling is to offer a safe and confidential space for you to talk. I offer person-centred telephone and online counselling which has proved to be highly successful.
The people who I have supported have found that talking regularly can be extremely useful.

Adults of any age. I welcome people who have never had counselling before, as well as people who have experienced counselling in the past.
