Hello, I'm Gareth, I believe everyone has the right to live a happy and enjoyable life, even when things are really tough!

I have been an Integrative Counsellor for over 10 years, having experience working with a wide range of clients - in my private practice, within an NHS IAPT Counselling service, a hospital Cancer team, and a specialist bereavement service.

I am an Accredited Member (MBACP) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). The main purpose of the Register is to protect the public and help you find a therapist you can trust. It aims to reassure clients, employers and the general public that a BACP-registered Counsellors adheres to high standards of proficiency, professionalism and good practice.

My integrative training and experience allow me to draw upon a number of successful 

theories enabling me to support and encourage you to explore your past, present or future concerns.

A supervisor who has supervised both students and qualified counsellors. I am an accredited member of the BACP and hold a level 6 qualification.

I have been a supervisor for several years and have supervised both students and qualified counsellors. I am an accredited member of the BACP and hold a level 6 qualification in Counselling. I also hold a BPS Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

I follow Proctor’s 3 Function Interactive Model as my basis within supervision sessions which has a focus on:-

Development – Strengthening the supervisee’s skills, knowledge, insight, reflection, and confidence.

Normative – Helping the supervisee to ensure their practice is of an appropriate standard and ethical benchmarks are met.

Supportive – Giving emotional support and encouragement.

I have knowledge and experience in the following areas - Grief and traumatic loss, anxiety, depression, cancer, stress, panic, LGBTQ and relationship issues including domestic abuse. 

I have worked in a hospice setting, a specialist bereavement service, NHS IAPT, Acute Cancer services and a University setting. I adhere to and work within the BACP Ethical Codes of Practice.

Supervision should encourage growth and self-awareness within your practice, promoting client safety and enhancing your work. I use the Proctors supervision model as well as integrative therapeutic approaches.
