I am an autistic therapist who does trauma-informed work, to help people understand their own mind better and figure out how they can live more comfortably with it. I take a neuro-diversity affirming approach and try to tailor my approach to fit the needs of whoever I'm working with. I’m also experienced in working with people who have learning disabilities and communication difficulties, although regrettably I do not speak BSL or any other sign languages.
I'm afraid I do not have the capacity to take on private clients at this time.
I am based in Edinburgh, and am employed as a remote-working psychotherapist by a private healthcare provider. I have no capacity to take on private clients.
My training is person-centred, which means that I will take my lead from my clients and seek to understand their view of themselves. My work is informed by current trauma theory and Dan Siegel's Interpersonal Neurobiology, which explores how relationships can affect and shape us as people, and how we can work to develop areas where we have difficulty. I aim to adapt the style of my work to the needs of the person.
