I am a BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor working with individuals and groups.
I believe counselling is a process in which we can explore what truly matters to us, and to discover more satisfying ways to live our lives.
Please email me if you would like to arrange a free, 15 minute, confidential discussion to explore if I am the right therapist for you.
What's troubling you?
Maybe you are struggling with a specific issue or event, such as loss, bereavement or a life transition (e.g. redundancy, menopause, retirement, kids starting school etc). Or perhaps you have a more general sense of dissatisfaction or unease - of things just not being 'right' or that life could be more fulfilling. Perhaps you've developed anxiety or depression and it is increasingly impacting on your day to day experiences, relationships or work.
How can counselling help?
Often our first instinct is to soldier on in the hope that things will improve or work themselves out. It’s not uncommon to feel like we should be able to cope or that we should be able to figure out a solution for ourselves. Therefore it can take a lot of courage to ask for help. However, you have already take a first step by being here! If you are feeling overwhelmed, or difficult feelings are impacting on the quality of your life, I want to reassure you that therapy can provide the support you need. You don't have to do it all alone - asking for help is an act of self-care and one that can make all the difference.
Speaking about our difficulties can be a source of anxiety but it can also be a huge relief. There is hope, things can change and counselling does help.
What should I expect?
I work with you to create a safe space where together we can explore the issues that made you reach out for help. My practice is integrative, so I draw on a range of counselling and psychotherapeutic theories.
Combining my experience as a qualified counsellor (MBACP), psychotherapy training and Thinking Environment® Coach, I will work with you to build a trust based relationship from which meaningful exploration and healing can take place. Together we develop insights and understanding that can help you process difficult experiences, improve your relationships and live your life in more meaningful and connected ways.
I established my private practice as a therapist, coach and trainer after 20 years in corporate roles focusing on Talent & Leadership Development and Organisational/Employee Wellbeing.
The thread that runs through all my work is my experience in creating environments where people feel safe enough to explore their thoughts and emotions and where they are heard with compassion; whether that’s 1-2-1 or in group work.
I am a professional member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their standards and codes of ethics.
