I am a Gestalt Therapist with an MSc in Psychotherapy working online (via Zoom, Audio and Chat).
Gestalt therapy is a holistic (body and mind), integrative and relational therapy that is also influenced by Zen Buddhist meditation practices. Like all humanistic therapies it values your unique experience and perspective.
As your therapist I will work gently and with empathy to get to know how you experience the world, and I will encourage you — with whatever support you need from me — to focus on your thoughts, feelings and embodied sensations so that you may deepen your self-knowledge as you share these experiences with me. In gestalt therapy we might use gentle ‘experiments’ as well as exploring your dreams as other ways to increase this self-awareness and understanding.
With this growing awareness of your relational patterns and triggers, alongside a greater understanding and ability to cope with your distress, we will work to develop your self-acceptance and conscious choice in the ways that you respond to other people and your environment.
