I am a Psychotherapist and Counsellor of Children and Young People. I trained at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education.

I am a BACP accredited therapist which certifies that I have continued to develop my skills and experience beyond my original qualification and that I attend regular training and supervision to maintain a high standard of practice.
I graduated with a Masters Degree in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy in 2004 at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education.
In 2019 I obtained a Level 6 Advanced Diploma with Merit in Counselling Children and Young People using the Creative Arts at the Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy (APAC) accredited programme with Leeds Beckett University.
In 2022 I completed a Level 2 Advanced Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling.
I have over twenty years experience working with Adults, Children and Young People in a range of settings including Child and Adolescent Social Services Teams, CAMHS, Relate, Education, ASD Units and YOT teams.
I have extensive experience of working with Children and Young People with an autism diagnosis. I have provided seminars and workshops for therapists and teaching staff on how to develop a therapeutic relationship, how to support and be an advocate for this client group.
I offer an initial free 20 minute phone conversation prior to an initial consultation to discuss your needs and whether I can be of use to you.
An initial consultation can be face to face or online. This session will include assessment, further discussion of your needs, ways forward and whether you would like to start sessions. Information will be provided regarding confidentiality, safe guarding, consent, privacy notice and use of any data collected and how this is stored.
There is a charge for this consultation.
Online sessions are similar to face to face as we will be able to see and hear each other but will not be in the same room. I use a licensed Zoom account and an invite is sent out with a code to access. You need a private space, a good internet connection, a webcam, speaker and microphone on your device. For Children and Young people a parent/ carer/ teacher needs to be present and or close by. I will discuss further if this is an option. Zoom has creative options to use online individually or with myself. I also use other creative tools which can be accessed online.
