Dr Max Eames grew up in California but settled in the UK after completing an honours degree in Florence, Italy. His varied career has included work as a chartered architect, restaurateur, and business turnaround consultant. A London-based Chartered Psychologist and Senior-Accredited Psychotherapist, Max facilitates long-lasting personal transformations for those who recognise the need to challenge both self-defeating behaviours and self-limiting beliefs.

Success is often depicted as a series of milestones achieved through talent, hard work, and perseverance. Yet, there’s a hidden dimension to success that goes beyond external accomplishments. The "secret language of success" includes understanding and overcoming personal emotional challenges that can impede our progress. Every successful individual has faced various personal challenges. Typically, the impact of such challenges goes unnoticed for quite some time. Anxiety can make it hard for us to focus and perform. Depression can cast a shadow over our aspirations. Low self-esteem and self-doubt can inhibit our confidence.

By recognising and managing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and other struggles, we create a foundation for genuine and lasting success. Working on self-awareness and resilience not only enhances our personal and professional lives but also leads to a more fulfilling and balanced existence.

Picking the right therapist for you will turn out to be one of the most impactful decisions you'll ever make. Maybe now's the time for breakthrough discoveries and a brand new life you'll love. If you’d like a better sense of how we might work together, please be in touch to arrange a no-obligation 15-minute discussion about your circumstances.

I typically favour Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then agree appropriate ways to help us make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and your everyday actions and experiences. In our work, I'll help you learn how to understand those thoughts with curiosity and compassion.

I work with adults, children, and young people. I often augment the benefit of our consultations with the use of ‘bibliotherapy’, in which a carefully curated selection of workbooks serves to ‘stack’ the learning made in sessions. This ensures maximum value to you as a client, and it offers a very real opportunity to continue the process of psychological ‘stretch’ between sessions.
