I am a person-centred counsellor with over 9 years post qualifying experience. I have previously worked in charities specialising in working with sexual abuse and the unemployed.
Person-centred counselling is grounded in the belief that everyone is motivated to change their lives for the better. As a person-centred therapist I am open and honest and I offer empathic understanding, in a non-judgemental way.
I aim to create a safe space where you can feel heard, understood and respected. I work in a flexible way as I recognise as humans we are all unique and have different ways of working. I only work with what you feel comfortable to talk about and would not push you to speak about something before you are ready. I do not offer advice as such but can recommend some coping strategies if you would find this helpful. I work in a trauma-informed way and have a good understanding of how trauma impacts us, my main aim is to empower you to make the best choices and changes you wish to make.
