I’m passionate about counselling and the help I can offer. I undertook my training for 5 years whilst working full time, managing to weave my counselling experience into my day job which was challenging and very rewarding.
I qualified as a counsellor later in life having spent many years in the corporate world. I am also a Mental Health First Aider and Instructor (MHFA England) and have organised many mental health initiatives designed to support my fellow colleague’s well-being in the workplace.
My counselling experience has covered different age groups and backgrounds.
You may have a clear idea of why now is the right time to come to counselling, equally you may not be so sure but just know you need to talk. Life can be wonderful at times, or even exciting but it can also be difficult and challenging. Often we can get through such times either through our own strength and resilience, or with the support of those close to us. However, there may be times where that approach is not working and that’s where counselling can help.
Anything can be the trigger for wanting to seek professional help, such as a recent or current unexpected life event. Or maybe it is something from your past which you have not previously been able to talk about. Whatever the issue then Person Centred Counselling may help you find peace or acceptance, allowing you to move forward with your life.
I am Person Centred Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP and ACTO. I am insured and committed to continuing my professional development. The Person Centred approach to therapy provides a confidential environment for you to talk and allow you the freedom to explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that suits you.
I have lots of experience working with young adults (18-25) having volunteered at the YMCA and a residential centre for young people. Areas worked with included homelessness, family conflict, suicidal thoughts, self-esteem and career aspirations.
