ACTO Tutor Membership

This is open to anyone tutoring an ACTO recognised course for an ACTO Training Organisation or providing workshops, bridging courses or courses for Continuing Professional Development in any aspect of colour healing or colour therapy or topics where colour is a recognised part.

Ideally they should hold a teaching qualification such as a B.Ed, PGCE, Cert. Ed. or DTLLS , however if they hold City and Guilds 7407 / 7307 (both parts), 7305/CTLLS or the equivalent they can apply.

Interview

Prospective members will be required to attend a panel interview with ACTO. The panel will include at least one trustee and two members (minimum of three members).

(Tutor Members already tutoring for an IAC, IWOC or NOCN member will not require an interview.)

Requirements

Probationary Period

Once accepted as an ACTO Tutor Member, there will be a period of probation which will last for two years.

During the 2 year probationary period ACTO strongly advises that they study for a PGCE or DTLLS if they do not already hold qualification. During this period there will be at least two visits from an ACTO trustee or their representatives. At least one visit will be during a tutoring session. If possible students' work will be verified during one or both visits. Once accepted as an ACTO Tutor Member, short courses can be submitted for ACTO Recommendation and Listing for a one-off fee of £35 per course e.g
- workshops
- bridging courses
- courses for Continuing Professional Development
Any courses that incorporates any aspect of colour healing or colour therapy or topics where colour is a recognised part.

Membership Fees

1. ACTO Tutor Membership Annual Fee - £80

2. Panel interview - a fee of £100

3. A course visit will incur a fee of up to £150, plus travel and subsistence

Non-UK applicants will need to either fund a visit from an ACTO member to their venue or visit the UK and attend a panel, where they will also be asked to present a micro-teach session. (The ACTO Interview Panel Fee -£100 - will be due on approval of your request for Tutor Membership and prior to your interview for acceptance of your Tutor Membership unless you already tutoring for an IAC, IWOC or NOCN member, when an interview will not be necessary)

Courses commenced prior to acceptance of Probationary Tutor Membership of ACTO cannot be endorsed by ACTO.
